Griquas will start off this match, against new comers, to the premier Currie Cup competition, Leopards from Potchefstroom at GWK Park at 3 pm on Saturday, with a new look front row. Coach Dawie Theron will be utilizing Bees Roux, Andries Kruger and Albertus Buckle up front for this game, with these three replacing Ruaan du Preez, Ryno Barnes and Steph Roberts. Theron is also worried about Heinrich Stride, who was injured in last Friday’s match against the Cheetahs, but with so much depth in the team, a suitable replacement will be found, in Sean Plaatjies. Added to this, with a long Currie Cup season still left, it is good to rotate the players, so as to keep them sharp and vie for a spot in the starting line ups. Although Leopards won Division one last season and were promoted to the Premier Division, they will still give Griquas a hard time, although they were hammered last week.
The GWK Griqua Team is: Rian Viljoen, Egon Seconds, Wilmaure Louw, Barry Geel, Bjorn Basson, Naas Olivier, Sarel Pretorius, Sean Plaatjies, Davon Raubenheimer, Jonathan Mokuena (capt), Jacques Lombaard, Brendon Snyman, Bees Roux, Andries Kruger and Albertus Buckle.
