A mammoth task awaits Wildeklawer Griquas on Saturday when they take on Vodacom Western Province in a Currie Cup fixture at GWK Park in Kimberley at 3 pm. Coach Dawie Theron believes that his charges have the ability and the confidence to create an upset by beating the highly fancied Province side. Although still dogged by injuries to key players, especially in the front row, Hans van Dyk, Bees Roux, Louwtjie Louw, Regardt Dreyer and now Dean Hopp, Theron said that the guys have been working very hard during the week, both mentally and physically, to iron out their weak points and overcome their line out blues with new hooker, James van der Walt, who has only been with the team for a short while. With Griqua’s draw against Boland last week, Theron believes this is the start of better things to come and Griquas are looking for their first Currie Cup win for this season and they would love to do it against Western Province on Saturday.
