Wildeklawer Griquas will be under pressure on Friday when the face the Blue Bulls at Loftus in Pretoria, kick off at 7 pm. But coach Dawie Theron’s injury woes continue as Naas Olivier will be operated on for a fractured cheekbone later in the week, while eighthman, Heinrich Stride will be rested for this match. Theron also mentioned that something like this (so many injuries to key players in a season), has never happened to him before in his coaching career.
“It is going to tough against the Bulls in the Bull ring, but they also have injury niggles and will be making four or five changes for the game against Griquas. Griquas played their best rugby against Cheetahs last Friday” said Theron, but bad luck hampered them, but the team will need to improve if they want a bonus point as well.
The Wildeklawer Griquas team for Friady’s match is: Bjorn Basson, Gavin Passens, Lafras Uys, Riaan Viljoen, MJ Mentz, Tobie Botes, Dougie Helmuth, Gareth Krause (c), Stephan Gerber, Rohan Kitshoff, Cilliers Coetzer, Wayne van Heerden, Ruaan du Preez, Hans van Dyk and Albertus Buckle. Replacements: James van der Walt, Bees Roux, Brendon Snyman, Tyronne Holmes, Sarel Pretorius, Jaco Bekker and Egon Seconds.
