Wildeklawer Griquas will be locking horns with Vodacom Blue Bulls on Friday afternoon, kick-off 3.30 pm, at GWK Park in Kimberley in what will be Griquas pen-ultimate Currie Cup encounter for the season. Once again the home team is plaqued by key player injuries and have had to borrow players from Potchefstroom University and Free State Cheetahs. Meanwhile the Bulls will be fielding a strong team against Griquas, so as not to jeopardize their semi and finals chances, as we all know as well as they do that Griquas can spring a surprise, at home, and beat them.
Griquas, however, have set themselves smaller targets to work to, instead of the main target to beat the Bulls, by improving, hopefully their defence, scrums, line outs and most important ball retention. Ex Griqua players that will be playing against their old team mates include, Tiger Mangweni, Zane Kirchener and Jacques Burger, also mentioning Victor Matfield, who no doubt will want to prove that they have made the step up in their careers.
