As from 2009, Wildeklawer Griquas will be known as GWK Griekwas/Griquas. This is due to a change in sponsor. Likewise the name Absa Park has already been changed to GWK Park, but with immediate effect.

The Griqua players started training about three weeks ago, in the mornings swimming and fitness, while in the afternoons skills and contact practice, in preparation for the upcoming Vodacom Cup, which kicks off in February 2009. The final squad for the new season has not yet been finalised, but a provisional squad has been already been placed on the site.
