Vodacom Cheetahs trounced the GWK Griquas 57-7, while the Cheetahs led 24 nil at half time, on Friday afternoon at Grey College field, in their first pre-season warm-up match. Although the Griqua forwards played well, their backline were completely outplayed by the much stronger Cheetahs. Griquas only points in the match came in the second half, when Jonathan Mokuena scored a try, converted by Riaan Viljoen, new Griqua winger, Richard Lawson, and stalwart lock, Jacques Lombaard, stuck up their hands for the visitors, although Griquas apparently did not enjoy very much ball possession.
